Ukrainian Helicopters’ aircraft continue to carry on 24/7 MEDEVAC stand-by duty in the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali. Apart from main aeromedical evacuation tasks, Air Ambulance has transported 1270 passengers during the first four months of operations. The total flight time amounted to over 230 hours.
Since September 2016, Aviation Training Center has conducted the training of Aviation Doctors for MEDEVAC operations by Mi-8 helicopters using Night Vision Goggles (NVG). During this time, 43 professionals from eleven countries have completed the training program and obtained the relevant certificates.
On March 17 Ukrainian helicopters demonstrated the capabilities of their unique Mi-8MTV-1 “Skytransformer” in Nairobi, Kenya. During the “Humanitarian Links Africa 2015" conference, more than 60 guests had the opportunity to witness the different configurations of the helicopter-transformer on the ground, as well as to observe its night operations while conducting both search and rescue operations as well as medical evacuation.
